25 01 18 Caucus Minutes

The January 18, 2025 Town of Oulu Caucus was called to order at 9:00am at the town hall by Jonathan Hamilton, Chairperson.

Residents present: Margie Lahti, Desmond Reijo, Jon Hamilton, Mike Davidson, Duane Reijo, Fred Strand, Raelene Mattson, Adam Mattson, Jonathan Nelson, Diana Reijo.

Posting of the caucus: Caucus notices were posted at the Oulu Town Hall and town website on January 9, 2025.

Motion by Adam Mattson, second by Raelyn Mattson to nominate Jon Hamilton as chairperson of the caucus, Hamilton declined. Motion by Margie Lahti, second by Duane Reijo, to nominate Fred Strand as chairman of the caucus. Motion by Duane Reijo, second by Mike Davidson to close nominations and cast a unanimous ballot for Jon Hamilton as chairperson. Motion carried by show of hands.

Chair Strand explained caucus procedures:

Tellers: Desmond Reijo and Duane Reijo volunteered to be tellers.

In case of a tie: The method by which a tie is broken will be by conducting another vote.

Nominations for Chairman:

Jon Hamilton nominated by Adam Mattson, seconded by Raelene Mattson.

Jon Hamilton was certified by caucus chairperson to clerk.

Nominations for Supervisors:

Adam Mattson nominated by Raelene Mattson, seconded by Margie Lahti.

Duane Reijo nominated by Margie Lahti, seconded by Adam Mattson

Adam Mattson and Duane Reijo were certified by caucus chairperson to clerk.

Nominations for Clerk:

Diana Reijo nominated by Margie Lahti, seconded by Adam Mattson.

Diana Reijo was certified by caucus chairperson to clerk.

Nominations for Treasurer:

Marla Lahti nominated by Margie Lahti, seconded by Raelene Mattson.

Marla Lahti certified by caucus chairman to clerk.

Motion by Fred Strand to adjourn. Caucus adjourned at 9:08am.
