The March 27, 2024 Town of Oulu Special Board Meeting was called to order at 6:33pm at the Town Hall by Chair Jonathan Hamilton.
Members present: Ed Burhans, Jon Hamilton, Adam Mattson, Diana Reijo, clerk, Margie Lahti, treasurer. Absent: None. Town Employee/s: Mike Davidson, Jeremy Gordon.
Approval of agenda:
Motion by Mattson, second by Burhans to approve the agenda as printed and posted. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
New Business:
Recycling Options:
Discussion held on the landfill clean-up (removal of scrap metal, electronics, and tires). Motion by Mattson, second by Burhans to contract with AA Roll-Off/Cord Advantage with an estimated cost of $7700. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
Park Projects:
Discussion held on park projects. The park is in need of basic maintenance. Motion by Mattson, second by Burhans to defer applying for the Bayfield County Health Infrastructure Grant and apply the monies toward park maintenance until a park plan is developed. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
Estimated cost to upgrade the park is $5000 with priority given to the concession stand, dugouts, and pavilion.
Gravel Specs:
Motion by Hamilton, second by Mattson to bid a minimum of 3,000 yards of grade 2, ¾” gravel (in accordance with DOT specifications) and include provision for residents to purchase gravel at the bid price. Gravel must be spread by September 15, 2024. Bids will be opened at the April 16, 2024 special board meeting. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
North Hissa Road Ditching Project:
Motion by Mattson, second by Burhans to ditch 1 mile on both sides of North Hissa Road. Bids will be opened at the April 10, 2024 regular board meeting. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
