23 05 23 Request for Proposal (RFP)Oulu Pioneer Road Slope Repair

Notice of Invitation: The Town of Oulu is inviting contractors to submit a proposal to repair a slope on Oulu Pioneer Road.

Project Scope: Repair slope near the culvert on Reefer Creek according to engineering sketch provided. Approximately

1. Contractor to verify height of repair and number of 2’ lifts required as well as horizontal extents of failure.

2. Excavation to follow excavation line in a stepping format beginning at the toe of failure.

3. First Lift: Notch out 12” below toe of failure. Length of notch to be 10’ Fill with 12” Select Crushed Material to create stable platform. Lay geo-grid. Add 2’ Select Crushed Material.

4. Cut second lift area. Lay geogrid all the way across second lift and overtop Select Crushed Material. Fill with 2’ Select Granular Borrow or pit Run Gravel (Typical).

5. Cut third lift area. Lay geogrid all the way across third lift and top of second lift. Fill with 2’ Select Granular Borrow or Pit Run Gravel (Typical).

6. Repeat until 6” from top road. Final layer to be 6” gravel.

7. Layer repaired slope with 4” topsoil, EMAT and seed.

Estimate must include mobilization, equipment, labor and materials to complete the project.

**NOTE: Geogrid is supplied by township**

Please indicate in your bid the earliest this project could be completed.

Deadline for proposals is Friday, June 2, 2023, 4:00pm. Proposals will be discussed / awarded at the Special Town Board meeting on Saturday, June 3, 2023, 8am at the Oulu Town Hall.

The town reserves the right to accept or reject any or all of the proposals or part thereof as determined to be most advantageous to the town.
